Our Tax Dollars at Work

In 2008, because our government thought the term food stamps was too demeaning, they renamed the program the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).  And they decided that it was too old-fashioned for food stamp recipients to use those pesky coupons.  So, in their infinite wisdom, they came up with a new, more twenty-first century solution:  Electronic Benefit Transfer (debit) cards.  Now these cards are great for purchasing the necessities such as 24 packs of diet Mountain Dew, cold water lobster tails, and porterhouse steaks on the taxpayers’ dime dollar.
