Space Shuttle Atlantis returned home this morning, ending both its 13-day mission and the United States’ nearly five decades of preeminence in space exploration. Fiscally strapped and politically addled, the U.S. can only watch as other countries and the private sector take the lead. Hat tip:
Perhaps NASA could arrange exit interviews for all of the talented folks that have lost or will lose their jobs because of the ending of our manned space exploration program. Maybe the Russians, Chinese, North Koreans or the Iranians, to name a few, would hire them as we cede our dominance and exceptionalism in yet another area.
