The following press release just went out from Tea Party Express:
MESSAGE TO SENATE DEMOCRATS: GET SERIOUS ABOUT BUDGET, OR ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR SHUTDOWN
The Tea Party Express (www.TeaPartyExpress.org) is calling on Senate Democrats to get serious about passing a budget and stop impeding the fiscal reform demanded by voters last November.
Tea Party Express Chairman Amy Kremer made the following statement:
“Conservatives in the House of Representatives have presented numerous budget solutions to Congress, including Rep. Paul Ryan’s Path to Prosperity, and the excellent proposal by the Republican Study Comittee that balances the budget in 10 years.
“Yet big-spending liberal Senators refuse to compromise and agree on a budget solution that addresses our skyrocketing spending and national debt. If they continue down this path, they will force an imminent shutdown of the government. The American people simply will not continue to fund the failures of the Senate and White House with never ending ‘continuing resolutions’.
“Conservative Republicans, empowered by the Tea Party movement, are the only ones presenting real-world solutions to America’s financial crisis. Democrats have so far been unwilling or unable to pass a single budget, despite their continuous rhetoric.
“We don’t want a government shutdown, we want solutions that solve our problem and get our economy back on track. But if Democrats refuse to be reasonable, they’d better be ready to suffer the consequences and accept responsibility for their choices.
“The bottom line is this – the Tea Party is not kidding or taking this casually. Cut the budget, or find a box and start packing up. November 2012 is right around the corner.”
The Tea Party Express is considered the most effective and aggressive national tea party organization, and is best known for spending millions of dollars to help elect conservatives to office, as well as national bus tours holding hundreds of rallies that feature conservative speakers, singers, and candidates for office.
