Why Are Jews Are Liberals? – Are they Still?

The recent speech where president Barack Obama called for a two-state solution based on Israel accepting the suicidal position of going back to the 1967 borders, raises the following question:  How will the American Jewish population who traditionally have been extremely liberal and who overwhelmingly supported Obama in 2008 react?  Not very positively so far.  Read this article by noted author Norman Podhoretz entitled  Why Are Jews Liberals.

Alan, Great post. The article by Norman Podhoretz, Why Jews are Liberals, has a very accurate statement and convincing argument of why conservatism should be protected and hopefully embraced by liberals. That is, the ideals and values we as conservatives are trying to protect and hold dear are the very principles that protect them from a totalitarian or dictatorial type of rule. The loss of conservatism is why Hugo Chavez has been able to become a dictator in Venezuela. By becoming the dictator of that country he controls the media, thereby taking away the voice of dissent of not only the conservatives but also the liberals. The end result is both sides lose. The liberals should pray that the conservatives stay in touch with their principles and stay in power or they (the liberals) too will be silenced.
