    I have a daughter, a former light conservative, but now more mainstream liberal, after living in Austin for the last ten years. Travis County (Austin) is much like Alachua County (Gainesville) as a blue county in a sea of red counties, with the largest city dominating the politics. AND, it’s getting worse, as Austin and Dallas are two of the most favored destinations of southern California idiots who are fleeing their failing state, but refusing to leave behind the attitudes that caused their state to fail in the first place. I witnessed this in Miami decades ago with the influx of so many from New York City and New Jersey bringing their “that’s not how we did it up north” attitude.
